Southern Utah Excursion with Students

Last week we took a great group of BYU-Idaho Art students down to the Moab/Hanksville, UT area in order to explore ancient rock art and to photograph the landscape.

We visited Arches National Park (including delicate arch and the fiery furnace), Dead Horse Point State Park, Sego Canyon, Black Dragon Wash, Little Wild Horse Canyon, Goblin Valley, Horseshoe Canyon in Canyonlands National Park, Buckhorn Wash, and the Wedge Overlook.

It was a fun trip and we crammed a lot in to a few days. Here are some images:

Arches/Goblin Valley and a few places in between

Dave (a fellow faculty member in the art dept.) and I took a drive down to Southern Utah to familiarize ourselves with a few locations prior to taking students down to the area in October. We had a great time and took the opportunity to make a few photographs along the way.
