So, I’m taking a class (sitting in really) this semester. It’s called Computer Art. Basically it’s an introduction to Photoshop, Illustrator, and In Design. Most of the Photoshop stuff is review, but I know very little about In Design and Illustrator. Anyway, our second assignment was to take digital photographs this week that illustrated the basic principles of design. It was fun making photographs while consciously thinking about design (I don’t usually work this way). Here are some of the better photographs from the week.

On Saturday I drove out to Mud Lake to look for birds (pretty quiet) and make some photographs. Mud Lake is completely frozen, which is no surprise. There is also no snow at all on the ice, which is pretty cool. I walked around on the lake for a bit and made some pretty fun abstract compositions.

I found a dozen undeveloped rolls of film in my drawer the other day. I recently had it developed and I’ve been scanning and editing. Here’s one… More to come.

The Taco Bus really does have some of the best food in Rexburg (there’s not a lot of competition). They also often have some incredible signage. Enjoy.

I was looking through some binders today and found a 4×5 negative I took of Susan on our Honeymoon. She was and is still quite lovely.
We spent our honeymoon near Forks, Washington. This was before it was cool and full of vampires.

Vernon Bridge is one of a few access points on the lower Henry’s Fork. These two images were taken from and near Vernon Bridge, which is generally west of Ashton.
