Bat Field Trip
A while back the local Audubon Society chapter held a field trip to learn more about Idaho bats. We met in Idaho Falls for a lecture and then went up the South Fork of the Snake River to net and hopefully view bats up close. Kevin and Ethan were a bit bored, but at around 10:30 a bat flew into the nets and then they were pretty excited. They got to touch the fur and wings. The best part for the kids was probably staying up past midnight.
Here are some photographs of the bat (A Silver-haired Bat)

WHY would you even want to see one that close??????? I HATE bats!!!!
That’s Gross!
Honestly, I think that is really cool. I would have hung out with you during that adventure and I wouldn’t have been bored. Something out of the ordinary…good stuff!
