Late Post

I tried to post this on Friday, but I couldn’t get it to work, so here’s it is, a little late.

After working with some students on their projects in the photo lab on Friday I went out to do a little research for my father-in-law. He’s coming up next weekend and I feel obligated to find him some good fishing spots. I had a good time, the weather was nice (calm winds and slightly overcast), blue-winged olives and midges were coming off, fish were rising regularly, and I even managed to catch a few. The sunset was beautiful, however I fished right through it (fly-fishing is turning me into a less productive photographer I fear). Anyway, I made a few photographs after the sun had set.

Sand Creek Wildlife Management Area

I told my dad that I’d update my blog when my brother Mike updated his. He did, so here it is.

Theo, a former student of mine, and I took a drive up to Sand Creek Wildlife Management Area today. Sand Creek WMA is a series of ponds and reservoirs on the south edge of the Island Park Caldera. It’s a long drive through sage brush and sand dunes. It’s really a beautiful little area. Anyway, we had a good time photographing and being out in the great weather. Here are some images:
