Bird Banding and Hot Wings
I did my last set of point counts at Mud Lake this morning. I thought it might be fun to have Kevin along, he’s now out of school for the summer, and then go over to Camas NWR and let Kevin see some birds up close. The Idaho Bird Observatory are banding birds at the refuge to monitor migration. Kevin had a good time and really enjoyed holding and releasing the birds. Afterwords, to celebrate a finished year of school, we went out to lunch at Kevin’s favorite restaurant, Wingers. He ordered a plate of hot wings and the manager told us he must be the youngest kid they’ve seen who likes hot wings. Kevin thought that was pretty cool.

Man, I would have loved to have been there, too! Too bad the weather didn’t cooperate for us last weekend. The Kevin photos are great and are already saved in our gallery. I didn’t know Kevin liked spicy food…what a kid!
MmmmMmmmMmmm… Sticky Finger Rice Bowl
Amen Carrie!! My favorite!
I love these pictures! That is one handsome kid, too.
Favorite Restaurant?!? What about the Taco Bus…I’ll bet that if he likes spicy food he’d love the taco platter…Where’d it GO!!!
Isn’t it ironic that the day you take Kevin out bird-banding, you immediately take him to Wingers for some hot wings…that come from…a BIRD?
Did he ask if the wings that were on his plate were the same species that he was banding?
Mmmmmm! Red-breasted sap-sucker wings!
